| | Club Program - April 20, 2021St. Johns Country Day School Girls Varsity Soccer TeamA Perfect 10!The St. Johns Country Day girls soccer team added one more state championship to its trophy case, obliterating Fort Myers Canterbury 6-0 in the Class A title game at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand.
The win marked the 10th straight championship for the Spartans, a record that they continue to up by the season and show no sign of slowing down under Coach Mike Pickett. They finished the year unbeaten (18-0) and will take a 39-game winning streak unto 2022.
They will be heavily favored yet again to reel in another title. The Spartans outscored their opposition this year by an obscene amount (115-5) while seeing nearly three dozen girls get playing time this season. A total of 27 Spartan players scored at least one goal this season, creating depth and setting the table for 2022.
This week we will welcome Coach Pickett and the seniors who played on this amazing team!If you can't join us in person join us on Zoom!!

President's MessageApril is Maternal and Child Health Month
Rotary makes high-quality health care available to vulnerable mothers and children so they can live longer and grow stronger. We expand access to quality care, so mothers and children everywhere can have the same opportunities for a healthy future.
However, an estimated 5.9 million children under the age of five die each year because of malnutrition, inadequate health care, and poor sanitation — all of which can be prevented. Think about that for a moment...annually, 5.9 million children die from preventable diseases. That’s over 16,000 every day. Almost 675 each hour.
Rotary provides education, immunizations, birth kits, and mobile health clinics. Women are taught how to prevent mother-to-infant HIV transmission, how to breast-feed, and how to protect themselves and their children from disease.
Funding for these efforts comes from your donations to The Rotary Foundation. Our club continues to rank among the top clubs in District 6970 in support of our Foundation. We are making a difference and saving lives. Through our Foundation, we are helping those we will never see, never meet, never know. Thank you for making a difference! It is great to be a Rotarian!

So far, we have 18 participating restaurants including Bonefish, Orsay, River and Post, Santioni’s, the Club Continental, Hilltop, Cowford Chophouse, Sonny’s, Mission BBQ, Prati Italia, Holiday Inn, Raintree, Bono’s, Chophouse 13, Ronnie’s, Salsa’s of 220, the Brick and Texas Roadhouse! We can always use more!!
To date, 35 of our 94 members have purchased raffle tickets, totalling almost $9000! In addition, we have sold over $800 on our online site rotarydinearound.com.
Please help support this effort! If you have not purchased your tickets, please see Pam Wolbert or Shirley Dyson. If you would like for your tickets to be billed to your account, let them know or JUST RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL. We are asking each Rotarian to purchase at least 3 tickets. We will be helping a number of local charities including BASCA, the Clay Education Foundation, Mercy Support Services, the local Scouts, the Navy JROTC unit of Orange Park High School and our Club’s Foundation, which will be used to support other local non-profits. Gold and Platinum sponsorships are available and several have already been purchased. A big thank you to Tom Brown, Jim Kaelin, Gi Teevan, Jack Arnold, Jim Cribb, Shirley Dyson, Bill Hammock, Lillian Bell, Jack Scorby, Larry Klaybor, John Peden, Pat Partridge, Pam Wolbert, Vaughan Rivers and Sandy Faraldo for your generous support!
