A Message From the Governor

World Polio Day is October 24th. We are so close to our goal of eradicating Polio and it's important to reaffirm our commitment every year until it's done. I will be in Media to help promote awareness on that day.

Also, please sign up for Rotary Foundation training on November 12th. I'd love to see each club send at least one Rotarian. I'm looking forward to in-person training and conversations about Foundation funds helping our communities.

Speech Contest Dedicated to PDG Roger Taylor

The Rotary Speech Contest will be named for Past District Governor Roger Taylor as he was the driving force bringing it to our District.
The committee is working out details of the upcoming contest and will soon share information in the District Dispatch.

In the meantime, the District website explains the basics of the contest and why it's good for clubs to participate. If you would like someone from the Speech Contest committee to give a short (5-10 minute) presentation to your club, contact RSC7450@gmail.com.

World Polio Day, October 24

World Polio Day is a time for Rotary members from all over the world to come together, recognize our progress in our fight to end polio, and talk about the action we need to take in order to end polio for good.

In 1985, Rotary International launched its PolioPlus program, the first initiative to tackle global polio eradication through the mass #vaccination of children. Rotary has contributed more than $2 BILLION and countless volunteer hours to immunize more than 3 BILLION children in 122 countries.

Watch highlights of World Polio Day 2021 HERE.

Since 1988, we've seen a worldwide reduction in polio cases of 99.9%. Only two countries remain polio-endemic: Afghanistan and Pakistan. Take action and designate your donation to Polio Plus.

Rotary's partners include UNICEF, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and governments of the world, with the support of many others around the globe. Learn more about Rotary's effort to End Polio Now!

Need Help with Club Website and Facebook?

Think about how many websites you visit in a given day. A business's online presence makes a first impression on you, doesn't it? Well, what kind of impression is your club's website making on prospective members and community partners? If your welcome page isn't all that welcoming, or your site isn't being updated, you might be missing an opportunity to show people what your club is all about.

Consider booking a one-hour consultation with the District's Public Image team. Over Zoom, they can listen to your challenges, answer some questions, and offer some recommendations to help improve how you're communicating to the public via club website and social media. CLICK HERE to book your free public image consultation.

Easy Access to Rotary Logos

If you want to add a Rotary logo to your club's brochure, website, or social media post, you can download it from our District's website. A variety of colors and formats are available, so bookmark this Public Image Resources page and you'll have easy access to brand-compliant logos. Some other helpful information about Public Image and Rotary branding can be found here as well. By visiting that page, you'll learn the difference between the Rotary Mark of Excellence (wheel) and the Masterbrand Logo which is shown here (Mark of Excellence with the word "Rotary" to the left of it.)

Please do not just "Google" and use the first Rotary logo that shows up. The internet is full of old, outdated, poor quality images that do not follow Rotary International's current brand standards. It's important that brand-compliant, high-resolution logos are used, and that's why we have them on our District website for you.

And remember you can make a brand-compliant logo for your club by using the Logo Template in the Brand Center at Rotary.org. (You do not need to log in.) If you have questions or would like a club logo made for you, please email District Public Image Chair, Lisa Leonard.

Welcome New Members

We'd like to extend a warm welcome to all our new members who joined us in our District this past month.

"I Belong" Video Series

We all have unique and wonderful stories about how we first learned about Rotary and who, or what, inspired us to join this wonderful community. District 7450 is proud to show off our "I Belong" video series featuring an array of Rotarians. The segments were produced by a friend of Rotary District 7450, Dan Lievens, and his wife, Stacey.

"As a Rotary Past President and my wife Stacey, a Paul Harris Fellow, we understand the delight in being a member of Rotary International," said Lievens. "It is our pleasure as marketeers to use the power of story to share the unique journeys of Rotarians; to show their heartfelt connection and commitment to Service Above Self."

Each clip is meant to inspire people to consider Rotary membership, so please help us spread the word. The episodes all live on our District 7450 YouTube Channel and they continue to be rolled out on social media. So, when you see an "I Belong" video on Facebook, please like it, make a comment, and share it. Rotary, as you know, is an organization that needs to grow if it's going to continue to do good in our communities and in the world. By sharing the videos, you'll be helping to raise awareness of this organization that we're all proud to belong to.
