KEYNOTE TOPIC – Florida Department of Law Enforcement
Jacqueline Boswell graduated from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law in 1995. Following graduation, she accepted a position as an Assistant State Attorney at the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office, where she was able to gain valuable trial experience prosecuting a variety of criminal cases ranging from simple traffic offenses and DUI’s to violent crimes, drug offenses and cases involving career criminals.
Jacqueline joined the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in April of 2001. Over the last 22 years, she has been responsible for advising over 100 Special Agents and support personnel on matters relating to complex criminal investigations including money laundering, drug trafficking, racketeering, internet crimes against children, and homicide. These issues involve criminal law and procedure, including search and seizure, compliance with court orders, applications for wiretaps and similar sophisticated investigative efforts. Jacqueline is also experienced in advising on matters related to officer involved shooting and in-custody death investigations. She also has experience in handling complex civil asset forfeiture matters. Her responsibilities include being a legal liaison with all state and federal partners on matters of mutual concern, including but not limited to mutual aid and memorandums of understanding relating to task force operations. She is a regular instructor at the FDLE Special Agent training academy. She is a recipient of the Commissioner's Annual Contribution to Criminal Justice award in 2014.
Jacqueline is a member of the Florida Bar and admitted to practice in the United Stated District Court Southern District of Florida and United Stated District Court Middle District of Florida. She is also a member of the Florida Association of Police Attorneys, The Miami-Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police and the Broward County Chiefs Association. She has lived in Weston since 1995 with her husband and two sons.
