"No one goes there nowadays, it’s too crowded."
"A nickel ain’t worth a dime anymore."

Proposed Officer & Director SlateBy Kevin LynchRotarians, Your Nominations Committee is pleased to propose a slate of Club and Fund officers and directors (in accordance with our Bylaws as amended March 9, 2023) who are all excited to serve beginning July 1. Lori Hudson Flanery Club President-Elect (2024-25 President)CEO, New Directions Housing Corporation Lori says it would be an honor to serve as President-Elect of our Club with its mission of ‘Service Above Self’ and the focus on camaraderie and the betterment of our local, national and international communities. She has served as Club and Fund Secretary for two years as well as Chair of the Governance Committee. Rotary has supported the work of New Directions (which provides affordable housing and other services to some of our most vulnerable neighbors) with its Repair Affair effort as well as its California neighborhood Head Start program at St. Benedict’s Early Childhood Education Center. Besides leading a large nonprofit, Lori’s career includes stints as legal counsel in private law firms as well as executive and legal positions in state government, most recently as the ‘CFO’ for the Commonwealth as the Secretary of the Finance & Administration Cabinet, reporting directly to the Governor. Her experience and perspective have been enhanced by working in the private, nonprofit and governmental sectors throughout her career. Lori is a Paul Harris Fellow, and she and her husband Kevin (retired President of Churchill Downs Racetrack) enjoy four adult children and two grandsons. Kevin Fields, Sr. Club Secretary (2023-2025)President/CEO, Louisville Central Community Centers, Inc. Kevin says he is proud to be an active member of the Rotary Club of Louisville. Getting to know long-standing members of the Club, while helping to cultivate new membership, has been a highlight for him over the past two years. He feels honored to be the first DEI Committee Chair for the Club and to serve as a Club Director. He is excited to take on the role of Secretary to the Board of Directors. Claire Arnold Club Director (2023-2025)Director of Outreach and Partnerships, Kentucky Manufacturing Extension Partnership University of Louisville Claire has been a member of the Club since 2016 and during this time has been fortunate to work with several outstanding members on the Nominations Committee (2021-present), Leadership Fellows Committee (Co-Chair, 2021-present), Global Scholarship Committee for the District (2019-present), New Member Celebrations Committee (2017-2018), Business Synergy Committee (2016-2018), and Rotary Mentor program (2016-2017). In January, the District Governor appointed her to serve as the Chair of the Global Scholarship Committee beginning July 2023; this program supports exceptional students for graduate study at a university outside North America who are devoted to pursuing a career that aligns with one of The Rotary Foundation's seven humanitarian areas of focus. She says one of the most rewarding projects has been working with Ashley Brauer to rejuvenate the Rotary Leadership Fellows Program, a three-year leadership development program for UofL MBA graduates, which offers these aspiring community leaders professional growth through being matched with a Rotary mentor and personal development through involvement in community service initiatives. She wants to apply the experience gained over the past 7+ years to contribute to the governance and leadership of our Club so that it remains Louisville's premier fellowship of business, professional, and non-profit leaders dedicated to humanitarian and civic service to make a positive impact globally and in our community. Craig Mooney Club Director (2023-2025)COO/CFO, Bosse Construction Inc. Craig joined Rotary in August 2018, wanting to get involved with an organization that provided him with opportunities to serve the community. Since joining, he has participated in serving the monthly dinner at Re:Center Ministries, the cleaning of the Louisville Knot, and the Rotary sponsored Habitat for Humanity build. He chairs the Rotary Honors Scholars (RHS) Committee and has enjoyed working with students at both Iroquois and Western High Schools. RHS has also allowed him to make better connections and new friends with fellow Rotarians and community leaders. He says membership in Rotary has been a very rewarding experience for him, and serving on the Board is an opportunity to give back to the Club. Craig is a Paul Harris Fellow. Harry Louis Seeger V Club Director (2023-2025)Private Banker, Republic Bank & Trust Louis is deeply honored to be considered for the role of Club Director. He is very active with the Club and would love the chance to contribute even more as an active Board member. Since joining the Club at the end of 2019, he has served meals at Re:Center Ministries, rung the Salvation Army bell, helped with the Louisville Knot cleanup and serves as Co-Chair of the Emerging Leaders Committee and Vice Chair of the Membership Development & Engagement Committee. He is passionate about Rotary’s mission, and believes he can contribute toward it in an impactful way. Kevin McCarronClub Director (2023-2025)Founder, Projection Creative Kevin is honored to be considered for the Rotary Club of Louisville Board and to learn and contribute to the advancement of the club and its impact. Since joining in 2018, he has come to understand the internal workings of a large club, and to see "how it's made." He is the Chair of the Public Image Committee and previously served as the Chair of the District 6710 Public Image Committee. He offers insights and experience in branding, digital marketing, design, and business development to support the mission of the Club and its many projects, and seeks ways our Club can improve the member experience and grow our presence in Louisville. Kevin is a Paul Harris Fellow and was selected as Rotarian of the Year for 2021-2022. His creative and technical skills were vital during the pandemic as we transitioned to virtual meetings and completely renovated our website. He shows up week after week to record our meetings and take photos. Anne MonellFund Board Director (2023-2026)Vice President of Philanthropy & Stewardship Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary Anne has been a member of Rotary since 2019 and has served on the Community Impact Committee. She has more than 25 years’ experience in nonprofit leadership through her work at the seminary, Norton Healthcare, the Community Foundation of Louisville, and Family & Children’s Place. She is ready to apply her professional insights and experiences through service on the Board of the Rotary Fund of Louisville. Voting will be held by electronic ballot beginning on March 27, 2023 and will continue through April 10, 2023.
The results of the election will be announced at the Annual Meeting on April 13, 2023, which will be held at The Woman's Club of Louisville on 4th Street next to Central Park in Old Louisville. |
