Imagine the Difference the Next Generation Can Make Today?

May Message from DG Gerry

The month of May is Youth Services Month in Rotary. It is a month that we celebrate our Early Act Clubs, our Interact Clubs and our other youth services. District 6910 has generated several new Early Act, Interact and yes, even new Rotaract Clubs this year. We are extremely excited for our new partners.

RYLA takes place at the end of May. Rotary Youth Leadership Academy is an opportunity for roughly 70 High School students to take part in a weekend of leadership and team building activities. If you haven’t visited RYLA before, I invite you to stop by and see these amazing young leaders in action. They will appreciate your interest.

At the end of April, we attended our District 6910 Annual Conference in Chattanooga. I hope everyone enjoyed the comradery and activities. We celebrated individual achievement and club achievement. I appreciate all of you who attended and to our fantastic District Conference volunteers! It was 3 years in the making, and our team was led by District Conference Co-Chairs Peter Gleichman and PDG Shane Burr. What a great effort they put in. Their leadership provided an outstanding Conference. Thank you! Congratulations to all the clubs and individuals that garnered awards.

Lastly, as we approach the end of the Rotary Year, please make an effort to focus on membership retention in your clubs. District 6910 has an opportunity to finish the Rotary Year as the number 1 District in our Zone and in North America for net new members. What a feat that would be!

Thanks to all for your leadership!

DG Gerry
