Gregory J. Donat, Judge, Tippecanoe County Court No. 1, will speak about the development of a Drug Court. With the support of your Lafayette Rotary Club/Foundation ($1,500.00 grant), Tippecanoe County Court No. 1 is in the process of developing a Drug Court which provides a rigorous treatment and supervision alternative to incarceration. Tippecanoe County has received a federal planning grant and will implement a Community Corrections based therapeutic Drug Court in the next 18 months. Judge Donat will be introduced by JO WADE, Program Coordinator for the month of December.

CLUB CONCERNS: Prior to the invocation today, President BOB GRIFFITHS (President BOB) requested members to remember JERRY COLE who entered Mayo Clinic today; LINDA EWING, spouse of KEN; LINDA GRIFFITH, spouse of GREG and daughter-in-law of GRIFF; CONNIE GRIFFITHS, spouse of President BOB, and REX KEPLER who had ear surgery; in their thoughts and prayers. President BOB also noted that the son of Joe Collings, President, Rockville Rotary Club, and grandson of 1994-95 Past District Governor Dick Collings was killed in Paris, FRANCE (a Wabash student studying in Paris) on Thanksgiving Day. Should you wish to send a card or some other remembrance to Joe Collings (PO Box 169, Rockville, IN 47872) and/or Dick and Freda Collings (FIR #4, Box 513, Rockville, IN 47872), their addresses are listed. SALVATION ARMY BELL RINGING - ANN PIECHOTA, Chair, and JERRY MC CARTHY, Vice Chair, will have a sign-up chart at Rotary until "Bell Ringing" on Saturday, December 19, 1998. There are 12 locations with four time slots (10 a.m. - 12 p.m.; 12 - 2 p.m.; 2 - 4 p.m., and  4 - 6 p.m.); this translates into 96 Rotarians, spouses, children, friends, and/or acquaintances to fill these "ringing times." 1998 BELL RINGER CAMPAIGN ENVELOPES for individual contributions ARE AVAILABLE, envelopes may be turned in to ANN, JERRY, DAVE LANDGREBE, Foundation Treasurer, or GRIFF. COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS COMMITTEE (MARVIN BLADE, Chair, and LEW RUNNELS, Vice Chair) PROJECT: Volunteer help - SERVICE ABOVE SELF - is needed for the YWCA Women Domestic Violence Center's annual holiday celebration, BETTY SUDDARTH, Coordinator. The following is the volunteer need schedule: (1) Thursday, December 10th - 9 - 11 a.m. - eight volunteers needed to decorate boxes (still need four more); (2) Friday, December 18th - 9 - I I a.m. - six volunteers needed to pack boxes (still need one more); and (3) Saturday and Sunday, December 19 and 20 - 1 - 4:00 p.m. - three volunteers are needed each day to deliver boxes (still need one for each the 19 th and the 20th). If you an help, please call BETTY or the sign-up sheet will be at GRIFF's table at Rotary next Tuesday.

LATEE DUES - DALE MC HENRY, Treasurer, reported Monday, November 9, 1998, at the Club Board meeting at several Rotarians have not paid their dues; those dues were due on October 31, 1998. Reminder notices were mailed Monday, November 30, 1998 to those Rotarians who have not paid.

JO WADE introduced Joel Robinson, who with the aid of slides, described and showed architectural drawings of the proposed Tippecanoe County Public Library (TCPL)/Ivy Tech State College (Ivy Tech) Joint Library Project (Project). Joel then introduced Jerry Withered, local attorney and Chair, Library Facilities Committee, who discussed the financial part of the proposed Project, cost to be shared equally between TCPL and Ivy Tech, and listed a possible time table for the construction of the under $4 million Project. Jerry noted ways that Rotarians can help: (1) If you like - talk to friends and share; and (2) If a remonstrance - help carry petitions.
