DEEPEST SYMPATHY to RAY KAVANAUGH whose mother, Harriet A. Kavanaugh, died on Friday, February 4th, in Dayton, OH.

MEMBERSHIP EDUCATION & INFORMATION: JERRY MC CARTHY will conduct a new member Rotary Information Session (Session) at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2000, University Inn Conference Center and Suites (University Inn). New members must attend one of these Sessions in order to have sufficient information to decide whether he/she would like to become a Rotarian. If you are thinking of sponsoring a new member, please contact GRIFF and get your prospective member scheduled into this Session.

can be given to University Inn and special identifying name badges can be prepared ahead of time. -
83RD ANNUAL DINNER (Dinner) - TUESDAY, MARCH 21, 2000, UNIVERSITY INN (please
remember, no regular Club meeting). Our Club is fortunate to have a great Rotary relationship with the Purdue Varsity Glee Club
(Glee Club); they provide marvelous after-dinner music. Since the Glee Club will be Rotary dinner guests, please remember
their dinner costs when you buy your ticket(s). Make an effort to be present for the Dinner, Tuesday, March 21, 2000.
In any event, please help “host” our Glee Club guests. The evening starts with an open cash bar at 6:00 p.m. and
dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets, $25.00 per person, are on sale each Tuesday by DALE MC HENRY at the money collection table.
Also, GREG NAPIER is attempting to identify Rotarians who are former Glee Clubbers. He is aware of BOB FORD; CHRIS FUNK;

SHOTS NOT SPOTS, immunization of Tippecanoe County children against childhood
diseases, will again be assisted by Rotary via the Community Service Projects Committee, LEW RUNNELS, Chair. FRITZ COHEN,
Project Coordinator, announced that the next Shots Not Spots will be Tuesday, March 14, 2000 and there is need for volunteers
during the following times: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon (setup) - have three, need two more volunteers; 12:00 noon - 2 p.m. - have
two, need two more volunteers; 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. - all four spots now filled; and 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. (tear down) - have two,
need three more volunteers. Sign-up sheet will be on the bulletin board at the back of the University Square banquet room.

NOTE from JIM HANKS...We declared the Rotary Plaza campaign concluded as of
November 30, 1999, so as not to interfere in December with our successful (always successful) support of the annual Salvation
Army Christmas drive. Here is another expression of appreciation to the more than a hundred of you who are sincerely thanked
for your tangible support (about $120,000.00 in total) of the great community project dedicated to education, the environment,
and heritage -- the Museums at Prophetstown. -

WEST LAFAYETTE HIGH SCHOOL GUESTS: Katie DeCarlo and Matthew Overly, guests of the Club and hosted/introduced by LINA REEVES-KERNER. LINA presented certificates of recognition and President GENE presented information brochures about Ambassadorial Scholarships for future reference and Rotary travel mugs (4-Way Test on them) to Katie and Matthew.
JERRY COLE introduced FAYE COLE, Owner/Operator,
Lafayette Relocation Services, who made a most interesting presentation about the function(s) of her business: (1) Selling the Greater Lafayette Community; and (2) Recruiting and assisting newcomers to the Greater Lafayette Community and helping them get adjusted; she cited a myriad of examples of services requested by newcomers. FAYE used the balance of her time to provide significant inventory of things available in the Greater Lafayette community, and closed by stressing the many opportunities for volunteerism in our community.
