ANNOUNCEMENTS:

SPECIAL MEETING: Frank J. Devlyn, Rotary International (RI) President for the 2000-2001 Rotary Year, wanted to attend our Club’s meeting on Tuesday, July 18th, but due to a very tight schedule could not attend the noon meeting. Therefore, the Club Board voted unanimously to change the official meeting from a noon meeting to an evening meeting. This meeting is to be co-hosted by Attica-Williamsport, Crawfordsville, Daybreak, Flora, Frankfort, and Lebanon Rotary Clubs. Hopefully BETTY NELSON, District Governor Representative, as a part of her regular visits, will speak to the Attica-Williamsport, Daybreak, and Flora Clubs, about this special meeting. And, hopefully BOB GRIFFITHS, Chair, Past Presidents Council, will be able to recruit one or two Past Presidents to visit each of the other three co-host Clubs, i.e., Crawfordsville, Frankfort, and Lebanon, at a regular meeting, to speak about this special meeting. Each of the six co-host Clubs will be urged to send a delegation and should they desire, “club table(s)” will be reserved for each. The tentative schedule calls for RI President Devlyn to arrive in the Greater Lafayette area around 3:30 p.m. for a tour of Prophetstown, hosted by NICK CLARK, and a tour of the Long Center for the Performing Arts, hosted by JIM HANKS. The evening program, Grand Ballroom, University Inn Conference Center and Suites (University Inn), is tentatively scheduled as follows: 6:00 p.m. - Open Bar(s); 6:30 p.m. - Buffet line(s) open; 7:15 to 7:30 p.m. - President DAN TEDER convenes the meeting with RI President Devlyn the speaker; and 8:00 - 8:15 p.m. - Adjournment. Cost of the buffet will be $12.00 per person.

The Board of Directors at their meeting Monday evening, June 12th, decided to personally contact every Rotarian regarding this special meeting in order to encourage members to attend and to get a somewhat firm number for University Inn. Each Director took 17 names from the Directory; therefore, each of you should expect a telephone call regarding your plans to attend. REMEMBER, spouses and significant others are cordially invited to attend this special meeting. GRIFF needs a final count by Tuesday, July 11th.
