BILL HATFIELD provided a brief resume of the recent visit of the four Russian federal judges who were here as a part of the "Open World Programs" supported by the
Library of Congress through Rotary International. The visitors and interpreter, Purdue graduate student Mariya Omelichea, attended a conference at French Lick and
spent the balance of the time here in meetings with local judges. BILL gave special recognition to Rotarians OSCAR HOPKINS; BOB GARRISON; JOE KRAUSE; DAVE LUHMAN; STEVE PENNELL; LIZ SOLBERG; and Daybreak Rotarian, Mike

corpus growth policy in mind during distribution decisions; Foundation contributions need to be reported to membership frequently, perhaps monthly; Keep membership

Involve membership in fund raising; (4) Board felt there should be a Club program regarding the Foundation, BETTY SUDDARTH, Club Program Chair for May 2001,
offered a Tuesday for a Foundation program; and (5) Board felt it would be appropriate to have a regularly scheduled Tuesday Foundation program, perhaps
two, each year starting with the 2001-2002 Rotary year Club programs, perhaps the Foundation Annual meeting could be one of these. The next Foundation Board meeting is Wednesday, October 11, 2000.
PROGRAM (September 26, 2000) DOUG TAYLOR introduced Clive Rainey, Program Director, 21st Century Challenge, Habitat for Humanity, who made a most
interesting presentation regarding the work and efforts of Habitat for Humanity to end sub-standard housing in communities. He noted that: This community's Lincoln Center was a world class model for
a homeless program; 1999 summer survey of this community noted 1,961 sub- standard units; Hoped the community would set a goal to have these eliminated by the year 2020; Habitat for
Humanity is providing signs, "21st Century Challenge Community", to be placed in communities that accomplish the goal of eliminating sub-standard housing; and
closed by challenging community industry, community agencies, Rotary, and individuals to work toward this goal of eliminating sub-standard housing in Tippecanoe County.
