This would divide up the 128 specific responsibilities that were taken care of by GRIFF into among three people reducing the workload on any one person and making it more manageable for each of these people. The duties for each of these positions have been outlined and are available through DAVE BOUGH.

PROGRAM (July 9, 2002)

PRESIDENT DAVE BOUGH introduced Helen Dillon, Executive Director, Tippecanoe County Council on the Aging. Helen explained that this organization was a not-for-profit countywide agency (that is not part of Area 4 Council on the Aging) that provides services mainly to seniors. They have four main programs: Coop Transportation, SHARP, Care-A-Van and the Senior Center. The Coop Transportation provides transportation mainly to United Way agencies such as Wabash Center, ARCH and the Girl Scouts. SHARP stands for Senior Housing Assistance Repair Program and assists 60 and older low-income people with repair services to their homes. Examples are building wheel chair ramps, adding grab bars, roofing repairs or replacements and plumbing. Care-A-Van provides transportation to 60 and old plus disabled citizens to medical appointments, out to other service agencies, grocery shopping, congregate meals and sometime nursing home visits. The Senior Center allows seniors to maintain their independence and come to a place with activities such as ping pong, line dancing or trips to have friends and family that they might not have other wise. They try to help people to be remembered.
