PRESIDENT DAVE BOUGH, requested members/spouses to keep the following in their thoughts and prayers: GRIFF (who is doing well and home, he had his right
knee replaced Wednesday, June 5, 2002). JOHN and EUDORA MC KEE; ED PAGE; FAE SPURLOCK; BEV STONE; HARLAND WHITE; and Jay Wiley, son of JAY WILEY. MARGERY ISMAIL (is doing well and is home since her hip
replacement June 26, 2002). Marjorie spouse of DICK WALKER who broke her hip July 1st is recovering at St. Anthony's.
ANNOUNCEMENTS The Executive Committee and Board of Directors have decided to reorganize the
Lafayette Rotary Club Executive Secretary Position. They are dividing the work into three new positions: Executive Secretary, Membership Secretary, and Operations
Secretary. This would divide up the 128 specific responsibilities that were taken care of by GRIFF among three people reducing the workload on any one person and
making it more manageable for each of these people. The duties for each of these positions have been outlined and are available through DAVE BOUGH.SMALL GROUP DINNER - the next Small Group Dinner will be at CHRIS & Jackie FUNK's home on Wednesday, August 7th, at 6:00 p.m. Cost is $8.00 per person
and reservations need to be made with MARTHA CHISCON or JANE TURNER. Maximum number is 14 people.SHOT NOT SPOTS - FRITZ COHEN reported that he has 16 volunteers signed up
for the Wednesday, August 7th "Shot Not Spots" Immunization Drive program at the Fairgrounds and is looking for two more volunteers in the 4 to 6 PM slot which
included taking down tables and chairs.
PROGRAM (July 16, 2002) JAN GRIFFIN-KOEHLER introduced Kathy Stewart, Program Manager, Junior Achievement of Greater Lafayette who spoke on
"Junior Achievement Programs Are Growing". Kathy will start full time at the JA office on August 1st after 7 years working part time to help serve the 5000 student that go through the JA program.
They take their program into the classroom with business volunteers explaining the free enterprise system to student after having training through JA. They use interactive programs like
puzzles with missing pieces that represent Japan exporting cameras and televisions and Tanzania importing cameras and televisions. One of the 3rd grade
projects was building cardboard buildings to learn about carpentry and city planning. It's a great program that works because of volunteers help share their experience with students in our area.
VISITORS: Zbig and Sandy Grabowski were guests of MARTHA and AL CHISCON. BILL FULLER'S guest was Eduardo Ostergren from Campinas, SP, Brazil and past
LSO director. Marshall Plumlee from Warsaw, IN, J. Victor Ashe from TN and Tommy Nealon from New York were guests of their grandfather MILLARD
PLUMLEE. BOB GRIFFITHS' guest was Dick Jeager. BARB REIF's guest was Pat Sisson from South Dakota. MAKEUPS: BARB REIF & BARB DOSTER attended the Greenlake, WI club
meeting last week. FRED KUIPERS attended the Marco Polo club on June 22nd. FREE MEALS: The free meal drawings today went to - TOM SCHMIDT who was
unable to attend, & JIM KLUSMAN, who generously donated his winnings to the Lafayette Rotary Foundation. THANKS YOUS: We received a thank you note from The Arc of Tippecanoe County
