- August 27th - District Governor Hugh Baker will speak about this year's district Rotary programs. There will be a meeting at 10:30 for officers and Senior Directors to report to the group.

JANE TURNER introduced LIZ SOLBERG, who gave a very interesting overview of Amtrak's current difficulties. Congress
needs to define the role of passenger rail service in the U.S. It was pointed out that other modes of transportation are subsidized and are less environmentally friendly. Regional rail service is
successful in parts of the U.S. and is considered by some to be a necessity for the Midwest.VISITING ROTARIANS: Jay Smith was back with us today from the Daybreak Club.
