Our Eradicate Polio Raffle is a 50/50 Raffle where half will go to Eradicate Polio and half will go to a drawing in our club. This week $66 was raised for Eradicate Polio
and $66 went into the pot. The winning raffle ticket number belonged to PHIL KLINGER who received $33.00. He failed to draw the winning card for the rest of the
pot, so it stays in the club kettle to grow for the next drawing. ROTARY logo or souvenir items purchased to provide a display for the Board of
Directors to choose from are available for sale at meetings. First come, first served. Don't miss this opportunity to own a license plate, a paperweight, or a framed 4-Way Test. PROGRAM (September 24, 2002)
PHIL KLINGER introduced Dr. Charles Stewart, head of the Department of Communication at Purdue University, who
presented us with survival tips in using humor in presentations. Humor is an international trait, used to deflect tough questions, to sell, and to release fears, anxiety and tension. Humor must be
appropriate for audience, situation and for the presenter. It should be carefully designed for the target. It must fit the message, be relevant but not overwhelm the message. Humor must be high
quality, natural and spontaneous. And the speaker must present it effectively (don't mess up the punch line!). VISITING ROTARIANS: ED ELLIOTT from Naples, FL; CAROL LADWIG from
