DAVE BOUGH introduced the president of the Lafayette Rotary Foundation, STEVE THOMPSON, who gave a very informative presentation on our Foundation. The Annual Report was distributed (apologies for two proofreading errors, 1-the date on the cover should be 2001-2002, 2-the Foundation is 30 years old) and reviewed. After explaining the investment policy, where the funds go and the award policy, STEVE also answered questions regarding recognition credit. All Rotarians are encouraged to give to the local Foundation by check, by appreciated stock, by memorial gifts, through estate planning and as a beneficiary of life insurance.

The Foundation Board is considering a request by the Daybreak Rotary Club to be part of our Foundation. The Bylaws are also being updated.

THANK YOUS

Lovely notes have been received from four students who attended Ball State's Journalism workshop last summer. They are: Haiyum Zhao, Erin Straight, Diane Kim and Christine Jang. From Maurine Roadruck, their advisor at West Lafayette High School: "Please let me add my own thank you to theirs. The financial support is certainly welcome, but additionally it means so much to the students that organizations such as yours recognize the talents and efforts of students involved in journalism and student publications."
