membership of Les Reker, Director of the Art Museum. He will be introduced to the club the end of February. From Tracie Hughes: Jacob Thomas Hughes was born on Friday, Jan. 24th at 11 AM. He weighed 6
pounds, 13 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. He's very cute, even though he does very little besides eat and go potty. TOM SCHMIDT announces that there will be a meeting of the Annual Dinner Committee in the
Tailgate Lounge immediately following the club meeting on Tuesday, February 18th. The Raffle for Eradicate Polio brought in $113.00 today. $57.00 goes to the Rotary International Eradicate Polio
Fund. Since no one claimed the winning number, $28.00 went to the Polio Fund and $28.00 was added to the kettle for the person who draws the Ace of Spades. With help from TOM MORAN, the badge box is being
repaired and re-ordered. Watch for changes. The Youth Committee of the Lafayette Noon Rotary is currently accepting application letters from agencies serving youth for summer recreational programs and camp
scholarships. Interested organizations should send a letter of request by April 8, 2003 to:

BOB FEUER introduced Lt. Chris Weaver with the Lafayette Police Department. Officer Weaver, who has a BA in Criminal Justice from Purdue, spoke to us about the Lafayette Police Citizens
Academy, an outreach program of the LPD since 1995. The Academy provides a place for citizens to learn about how and why things happen in the department. It also showcases the talents of
members of the department. A sampling of topics covered include: Swat Team, Identity Theft, Drug Task Force, Polygraph, and Canine training and use. The academy meets one night a week for ten weeks
starting in late August. Applications are available at the back desk for anyone interested in participating.GUESTS: Peter and Lydia Thong from Beijing and Barbara Kingma, all guests of GORDON KINGMA. STUDENT GUESTS: Veronica Satchkova and Brett Lueken were our guests today. They received a certificate and a travel mug with the four-way test to commemorate their visit with us.
