THANK YOU

Dear Rotarians:

I want to thank you for your donations that purchased a bike for the kids at the National Youth Sports Program. I arranged for the drawing to be last Friday so Dave could pick the name while still club president. The winner is one of the nicest kids in camp and VERY appreciative. Thanks for being such wonderful people – I'm proud to be a part of the club.

Mike Piggott

CONGRATULATIONS

DON "GUS" GUSTAFSON was presented with his 12th grandchild today when daughter Kristin gave birth to a healthy boy. GUS made a significant contribution to the Foundation in celebration. Thanks GUS!

PROGRAM

President DAVE summed up his feelings about this past year as a great opportunity. He thanked those who have helped with the many projects and committees during the year and highlighted several achievements, including the change of our By-Laws, the Zimbabwe Famine Relief Fund, and Polio Eradication Fund drive. DAVE introduced incoming President BETTY SUDDARTH, who presented DAVE with his past president's pin, and a gavel plaque. JIM TURLEY presented DAVE with a Paul Harris Fellow pin, which is funded by an anonymous donor to honor DAVE'S service to the club. The Paul Harris Fellow is also in memory of HAROLD TAYLOR.

BETTY thanked the officers, board members and committee chairs for last year's accomplishments and hopes to build on these feats. She shared highlights from the International Convention in Brisbane, Australia. In addition to the announcement that RI has exceeded its goal of $80 million for Polio Eradication, Rotary has re-established a club in Afghanistan after 23 years and it has a woman as its president. She felt the Host Family Night was a highlight.

BETTY hopes the club will implement recommendations of the planning committee, have a successful Rotaract Club at Purdue, participate in World Community Service activities in Guatemala and Afghanistan, and join Daybreak Rotary in the Centennial project. She ended by recognizing the 2003-2004 officers, board members (both Club and Foundation) and committee chairs.
