    PRESIDENT BETTY SUDDARTH, requested members/spouses to keep the following in their thoughts and prayers: JOHN and EUDORA MC KEE; ED PAGE; FAE SPURLOCK; Marjorie, spouse of DICK WALKER; BOB BROCK who is home and still in great pain; ED HEMMER who sent us a note from Maine saying he is mending (ED's summer address is available from JANE); RALPH MORRIS who has had surgery. It was great to see DICK KOHLS at today's meeting.

    • ELSA JANLE announced two Vocational Projects and asked for volunteers.
      1. Volunteers to be on a panel at area high schools to discuss professional and vocational requirements.
      2. Job shadowing

    • BRUCE HARDING and BILL FULLER have worked hard to transfer the web site maintenance and Ripples distribution from Chris Funk's care and keeping to theirs. The web site is LafayetteRotary.org/   If you are not receiving an e-mail message saying the Ripples are posted, please let JANE, BRUCE or BILL know. Even if you don't receive the e-mail, you can always check the site.

    CONGRATULATIONS

    BILL LOVELL received a letter from RI informing him that he has reached Major Donor Status in the Rotary International Foundation. This is achieved by giving a minimum of $10,000 over the years. BILL feels honored by this letter and wants to encourage others in this club to join him in this status.

    PROGRAM:

    TED WOLFE introduced Barbara Coury, Director of Development at the Purdue Cancer Center. She made a very interesting and detailed presentation on living with cancer. Cancer is now considered a chronic and manageable disease if detected early enough. The Purdue Cancer Center, one of 61 National Cancer Institutes, provides unique opportunities to research the disease.
