AL CHISCON introduced his long time friend, Will Carpenter, who is a
retired Vice-President, Monsanto and recent U.S. Representative to and
Co-chair of the Science Advisory Board of the Organization for Prohibition
of Chemical Weapons, and recipient of the Roderick Prize in Science,
Arms Control and International Security. Will made a very interesting
presentation on the process that took place to draft a chemical weapons
treaty with 150 member nations, ratified by the U.S. in 1997. It was a 20
year process involving the chemical industry and governments from all
