CLUB CONCERNS
PRESIDENT BETTY SUDDARTH, requested members/spouses to keep the following in their thoughts and prayers: JOHN and EUDORA MC KEE; ED PAGE; FAE SPURLOCK; Marjorie spouse of DICK WALKER; JOHN BARRETT and BOB BROCK.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Chuck Grant, Donna Meloy and Sandy Daniel were approved by the Board of Directors to become members of our club. They will be introduced in the next couple of weeks.
The Lafayette Rotary Foundation Board of Directors elected DALE McHENRY to the position of assistant treasurer. He will be responsible for receiving and depositing funds. DAVE LANDGREBE is still responsible for disbursements.
Desserts at today's meeting were furnished by Farmhouse Pies.
PROGRAM:
Jim Vruggink reminded us that a new chapter of the National Football Foundation is forming in Tippecanoe County. Fifty members are needed, each paying $40 per year in tax-deductible dues.
| Jim introduced Purdue Athletic Director and Rotarian, MORGAN BURKE, who introduced Christy Curry, 5th year head coach of the women's basketball team. With 4 seniors and a strong incoming class there is great optimism for the coming season. |

| MORGAN BURKE then introduced head coach of the Purdue Men's Basketball team, Gene Keady, who is nearing 500 career wins. Coach Keady said the theme this years is, "Be Enthusiastic. Be hard nosed. Be tough." He also reviewed important attributes of good coaches that need to be passed along to players, i.e., Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, Citizenship, Integrity. Noting that the team has great chemistry, he introduced the players. |
