Caleb Lucien shared his story of growing up in Pignon and
then being educated in the United States. In 1989, he
returned to Pignon to begin several projects that have had
tremendous impact on the community. They have built a
community center for the youth to train and play sports.
They have built a secondary school for 850 students which
includes the first library and computer lab in the area.
Rotarians from Brainerd, Minnesota mentored Caleb and the
residents of Pignon to extend the airstrip, add fencing to
keep animals off the airstrip, and relocate families living
on the airstrip. |
