    • FOUNDATION FACTOID: As we approach the end of the year, perhaps you are thinking about the success you have had this year and the impact it will have on your taxes. One way to decrease your tax liability and benefit your community or the world is a gift to Rotary. If you have highly appreciated stock that you would like to donate to the Lafayette Rotary Foundation, we will be happy to let you know how to make that happen. Gifts of cash or stock will be welcomed by either our local Lafayette Rotary Foundation or The Rotary Foundation (International).

    PROGRAM:

Rev. Joe Wick, retired pastor of First Christian Church and a former member of Kiwanis, entertained us with stories about old age. Then he wondered if the art of saying thanks is lost. Often gratitude is delayed in finding expression. We must think in order to thank. Prosperity makes us think we're self-sufficient and self-sufficiency precludes the need for others and thanking them. Thanksgiving is only one day of the year to express thanks. Every day is thanksgiving. If you wanted to laugh at the jokes, you should have attended the meeting! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!

    GUESTS:

Bob Goins, guest of JOHN McKEE; Cecil Blignaut, guest of GENE COURTANEY; Fred Kremer, guest of DICK WALKER; Steve Hychka, husband of SUSAN HYCHKA.

    • FROM THE ARCHIVES: Andy Rooney said, "Being kind is more important than being right."
