    PROGRAM:

December program chair JOE MICON introduced JIM BODENMILLER and Dris Abraham who gave us an update on the Museums at Prophetstown.

JIM reported that building of the Kampen Eagle Wing Education and Visitor's Center has been delayed due to the downturn in the economy and resulting difficulty with fund raising. The Rotary Plaza will be installed as planned in front of the building when it is built, perhaps in 2005 or 2006. The Native American Village depicts agrarian life in the early 1800's, prior to the Battle of Tippecanoe. Progress continues on development of the State Park. The economic impact of the part and museum on our area is still expected to be substantial.

Operations Director, Dris Abraham, shared some of the programs instituted at the Living History Farm, which depicts farm life in the 1920's. Students involved with Cary Home, GLASS and other school groups have had meaningful experiences doing farm work and learning basic skills. He described the buildings and animals. For more information, please check their website at www.prophetstown.org

    STUDENT GUESTS:

DAVID BRIDGES introduced Susan Long and Lukasz Wylezinski from Jefferson High School. BARB DOSTER introduced Laura Burton and Nick Rudder from McCutcheon High School. Each received a certificate and a travel mug with the four-way test to commemorate today's visit with us.
