March program chair, DAVE LAHR, introduced Karen Wolford, Chief Executive Officer of the Sycamore Girl Scout Council. Karen was assisted by Kitty Brooks, Director of Development. Girl Scouts serves girls from ages 5 to 17. The three "C's" we're all familiar with are Cookies, Camping and Crafts. The "C's" Karen talked about today include Community Service, Confidence, Character and great Conduct. Rotary provides one campership for a girl to attend Girl Scout camp each summer, one of many programs to help girls grow strong in body, mind and spirit. Internationally, nine million girls are Girl Scouts and Girl Guides. |
