    CLUB CONCERNS:

    PRESIDENT BETTY SUDDARTH, requested members/spouses to keep the following in their thoughts and prayers: JOHN and EUDORA MC KEE; FAE SPURLOCK; Marjorie spouse of DICK WALKER, BOB WILKINSON and GRIFF who was hospitalized this week.

    EULOGY:

    JIM HANKS gave an eloquent eulogy for John Sullivan who passed away in Naples, FL on March 23, 2004. John was a member of our club while he worked at State Farm Insurance.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS:

    • There will be a meeting of the Scholarship/Citizenship Committee next Tuesday (April 13) after the meeting. Please contact BOB HANNEMANN if you are unable to attend.

    • Dues statements have been sent. Please respond so that we don't have to send you a second request.

    • Nominations for Rotarian of the Year are being accepted. Forms for this award, which is presented at the Annual Dinner, are available from JANE.

    • A Paul Harris Luncheon will be held at the Holiday Inn North on May 6th. Cost is $20.00. All Paul Harris Fellows are welcome to attend. Those interested should contact BETTY for more information.

    • President BETTY announced the District Conference to be held in Muncie the weekend of April 16 - 18. You can get more information here or by contacting JANE.

    • Rotary License plates are still available. Of the $25.00 extra you will pay to have this special identification, $15.00 returns to our club. This is a fairly painless way to support Rotary and to demonstrate your pride in belonging to one of the world's finest organizations.

    • LES REKER, chair of the Culture Committee, announced the following activities in May:

    LETA KELLEY introduced the 25 members celebrating birthdays in April and announced that so far $2,640 has been collected. Irene Kohls sent an additional amount to celebrate not only DICK'S birthday but also their 60th Wedding Anniversary! Congratulations and Thanks to all!!!

    PROGRAM:

    GORDON COPPOC, co-chair, with FRED ANDERSON, of the GSE Committee, introduced this year's GSE team, explaining that he had met the USAMA KAKISH a few years ago on a trip to Jordan. It was a pleasant surprise to meet up again, this time in Indiana. Samir El-Hoss and Daniele Yacoub from Lebanon, and Nour Shahzada and Samer Tadros from Jordan briefly introduced themselves and then showed pictures of their countries. Thanks to members who hosted them and helped on this exciting committee.
