    • The first Tuesday of each month is our food drive. Please bring 2 cans of food or two non-perishable items to the meeting next week.

    • TERRY WEST, chair of the Ambassadorial Scholars committee, gave us an update of Leslie Taulman who is still doing well in Bolivia. She sent a newsy e-mail:

"As for news here, classes continue to go well. Right now I have a module on Financial Analysis and Planning. Presentations were last night. I continue doing home visits with the nursing staff in Montero every Wednesday and am still in the progress of getting contacts to volunteer at the children's ward of the cancer hospital and with another organization called, Hombres Nuevos, which helps people who have overcome addictions. Hopefully I can get these organized to begin next week. Over Easter weekend, I went to the Rotary district convention in Sucre. It's a charming city.
I made some helpful contacts with other clubs around Bolivia and may even be able to help in an agribusiness training at the agronomy faculty in Sucre. It was so motivating to hear about the projects that the Rotarians have going. Also, another Rotary scholar and I have been working to revitalize a Rotaract club here in Santa Cruz. We had the first meeting last Saturday with a group of past and potential Rotaract members and had an excellent turnout. The next meeting is Thursday night. We've got all sorts of momentum to get this up and going. Finally, this Saturday I'm participating in a domestic violence workshop with a club de madres in a community five minutes outside of Santa Cruz. I'll be learning how to do the presentation and then will be able to assist in future presentations and workshops. Please give my regards to the two clubs and let them know about my progress here in Santa Cruz.

      Cheers,
      Lesley"
