    THANK YOU:

    Dear Mr. Reger:

On behalf of Junior Achievement of Greater Lafayette, Board of Directors, its volunteers, staff, and most importantly, the 5,332 K-12 JA students, I want to express my sincere appreciation to Lafayette Rotary Club for its ongoing support. It is only through vest partnerships with companies/foundations like Lafayette Rotary Club who share our vision for tomorrow's youth that JA remains at the forefront of providing business and economic education to K-12 students.

During the next year, Lafayette Rotary Club's generous gift of $600.00 will be used to support the following initiatives in Tippecanoe and Benton County:
    K-6 Elementary School Programs
Personal Economics, JA Enterprise in Action, in the Middle Schools
JA Personal Finance, JA Success Skills, JA Titan in the High Schools

Again, I would like to thank you and the Lafayette Rotary Club for the renewed commitment in support of Junior Achievement's mission to provide our youth with a fundamental understanding of the free enterprise system. Your generosity ensures that greater numbers of young people will "Experience JA and Experience Success."

    Sincerely,
    Kathy M. Stewart
    Program Manager

    PROGRAM:

GIL SATTERLY, Senior Director of the Community Avenue of Service for our Rotary Club, said that the Community Avenue is described as the Heartbeat of Rotary. We have four committees in this Avenue of Service, which are overseen by three directors: GIL SATTERLY, JOHN SANDERSON AND KATHY MEEKS.

GIL outlined in detail the responsibilities of the Student Guests Committee, chaired by BARBARA DOSTER and the Scholarship/Citizenship committee, chaired by BOB HANNEMANN.

JOHN SANDERSON introduced ANN PIECHOTA who chairs the Salvation Army Committee. Nearly everyone in the room had been a Red Kettle Bell Ringer. ANN is looking for a co-chair to relieve JERRY McCARTHY of his long held responsibility.

DAVE LAHR reviewed the work of the Community Projects Committee. This activity requires an investment of time. Shots Not Spots each Spring and Fall and the YWCA Women's Shelter Christmas project will continue to be arranged by FRITZ COHEN. New projects include Food Donations the first meeting of each month, paint and repair projects in fall or winter, and serving a meal once a month or more at Transitional Housing.
