The program provides master's-level degree education in conflict resolution to a group of 70 Rotary World Peace Scholars chosen annually in a world-competitive selection process.

PROGRAM:
CHRIS JOHANSSEN, program chair for the month of August, introduced Larry Biehl, manager of Purdue's Terrestrial Observatory. He agreed to speak to us in the absence of GILBERT ROCHON, who was detained in Memphis, TN. Larry explained that the laboratory receives data from satellites, trains students to run the equipment and analyze data, and shares the information with other entities (state, county, etc.) that may need it. Purdue has set up antennas and data processors. Information gathered from different passing satellites is shared between universities.

PRESIDENT TOM'S WISDOM:

With the thoughts of the expanse of the terrestrial beyond, let's think about another expanse of time and mind.

Point of View
One enterprising man asked the Lord, "Lord, how long is a million years to you?"

The Lord replied, "To me, a million years is like a second."
The man asked, "Lord, how much is a million dollars to you?"
The Lord said, "To me, a million dollars is like a penny."
The man asked, "Lord, may I have a penny?"
The Lord answered, "Sure, just a second."
