The first Gift of Life patient for District 6560 since July 1 arrived in Indianapolis. There are funds for 10 patients this fiscal year. Sabine Siede from Cap Haitien Haiti is under 10 years old and was operated on October 1st, by Dr. Rodefeld and is doing well. Her heart problem was a VSD - a hole in the heart between the two ventricles. She should be out of the hospital early this week.

The second patient is 17 year old Simone Blidgen from Jamaica and she is scheduled to arrive this week for surgery work up. The surgery maybe for Pulmonary Valve Repair and is planned for Oct 11th by Dr. Brown.

The Gift of Life project is a means in which Rotarians are involved in life saving aspects for children who would not be able to have life sustaining operations.

    THANKS:

    Lafayette Rotary Club:

I want to thank all of you for the cards, flowers and mostly your friendship to my husband, Dick Holtz.

It helped to know so many people cared. A special thanks to his Rotary buddies who came to see him in the hospital and at home. He knew you were there and it made him smile.

To the "Old Geezer Table" he spoke of all of you fondly. Thank you for being there for him and our family,

    Fondly,

    Mary Lou
