    PRESIDENT TOM SCHMIDT requested members/spouses to keep the following in their thoughts and prayers: JOHN MC KEE; Marjorie, wife of DICK WALKER; MAURI WILLIAMSON and the friends and family of JAY WILEY who died Sunday evening.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS:

    • SUSAN HUCHKA reminded us of Purdue Research Park Job Fair on March 2nd. Just a few more volunteers are needed. Please contact SUSAN.

    • We are about $5,000 short of our goal of $35,000 for the Centennial Overlook Project on the Wabash Heritage Trail. Contributions would be welcomed by the Lafayette Rotary Foundation.

    • FRITZ COHEN, chair of the Community Service Committee, announced that Shots Not Spots will occur again on Wednesday March 30th from 11 AM to 6 PM at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds. Sign up sheets will be on the bulletin board next week.

    ROTARY FACT:

    The United States Senate recognized the many contributions of Rotary with a resolution declaring 23 February as Rotary International Day. Issued on 17 February in honor of Rotary's 100th anniversary, the resolution "recognizes Rotary International for 100 years of service to improving the human condition in communities throughout the world," as reported in the Congressional Record.

    PROGRAM:
    PROGRAM: JEANNE NORBERG introduced Marcus Rogers, Professor in the Center for Computer Security. He explained that computer forensics is a maturing science. It serves law enforcement, military and businesses as well as individuals. People involved in fraud, child pornography, identity theft, theft of product information, privacy issues and national security all find that computers make their activities easier. Training forensics experts how to catch and prosecute these criminals is the focus of the Center. An interesting Q & A session followed.

    You may have noticed lots of publicity about Rotary recently. There have been three newspaper articles and mentions in articles related to some of our speakers. WBAA aired an interview with TOM MORAN, BOB VERPLANK and SUSAN HYCHKA last week. Last Friday TOM SCHMIDT and I were on the TV-18 noon news promoting the Chili Supper. And I understand that there will be more TV interviews in the future. All this is because JEANNE NORBERG is using her expertise and connections to put us front and center during our Centennial year.
