Instruction on where to park will be announced. It is hoped that we will have a respectable contingent of Rotarians present for this important event.

    • We are planting flowers at the overlook on Wednesday, May 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. Rain date, Friday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to noon. Joe Payne says we could use 20 people!

    • The Columbus Sunrise Rotary Club is proud to announce Indiana Rotary Clubs had 400 special license plates sold in 2004. Many thanks to all the great Rotarians Statewide for their support and for displaying these "moving billboards" while CELEBRATING ROTARY across the state. More importantly, these plates will heighten the awareness of Rotary's good works every where we drive.

To ensure Indiana Rotary License Plates (IRLP) will be available for many years to come, we have to maintain a level of 500 sales per year. If you ordered one last year or making a first time purchase, submit your application form now. You must have a validated IRLP application form when you go to the BMV to get your new plate or mail in for a renewal sticker.

      http://www.rotary6560.org/Plate05.doc

RENEWALS or NEW APPLICATIONS MUST BE VALIDATED BEFORE VISITING YOUR BMV!!!

The fee structure is designed to share the revenue among all Rotary Clubs in Indiana and to offer clubs an opportunity to raise funds for various projects. $15 from every sale is rebated to the Purchaser's designated Rotary Club.
This 100 Year Commemorative License Plate is sure to be a Collector's Item (We have had many calls from other States expressing their compliments on our plate design).

Get on board and order or renew your plate today! Please ensure all members of your Club are aware that they too should Step Up to the Plate!!!

    • JOHN SANDERSON announced that tickets for the Annual Dinner are available for $25 each. Mark your calendar: NEXT Tuesday, May 10, 6:00 P.M. University Inn. The Bach Chorale Children's Choir will entertain us.

    • PHIL KLINGER announced the Golf Tournament scheduled for June 30th at the Lafayette Elks Club at 1:00 P.M. California scramble. Prizes. Co-ed. $50 to play. The funds collected will go toward Polio Eradication.

    ROTARY FACT:

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has contributed over $25 million in the battle to eradicate polio. Bill Gates, Sr., who is Co-chair of the Foundation said: "Back when Rotary became involved with polio, most people thought volunteer organizations were about tackling projects down the street or across town - not across the world. Rotary changed all that, and in the process, you reminded us that there is no human problem so daunting that it can't be overcome by people."

    PROGRAM:
SUSAN introduced 40 year member DICK GRACE, who has written a book titled When Every Day is Saturday. By surveying 700 people, he was able to put together a retirement guide for boomers. The most important components for surviving retirement are attitude, coping and helping others. At the end of this interesting presentation, a drawing was held and two books were given away. ARVID OLSON and CHRISTA KECK were the lucky winners.
    STUDENT GUESTS:

LEW RUNNELS introduced Kate Crecelius and Tommy Szlasny from West Lafayette High School. Each received a certificate and a travel mug with the four-way test to commemorate meeting with us.
