TERRY WEST, born and educated in St. Louis, learned to swim and play basketball at the YMCA. A registered professional engineer and certified geologist, he came to Purdue in 1961 and has been teaching and learning ever since. Important achievements include writing "Geology Applied to Engineering" and serving as major professor to 75 Graduate students, 17 of which became Ph.D's. He and his wife, Shirley, have two children. While photography, reading and travel are his hobbies, he has devoted time and energy to Central Presbyterian Church and Rotary. |
