PRESIDENT SUSAN HYCHKA requested members/spouses to keep the following in their thoughts and prayers: RAY KAVANAUGH; BOB BROCK; MARGARET HALL; HANLY HAMEL; BILL HATFIELD; DICK KOHLS; ROY MEEKS; ROY WHISTLER; and all those impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. .
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
All Club Board Members and Committee Chairs are asked to meet with MARTIN LIMBIRD, District Governor, at 10:00 next Tuesday in the Alumni Room which is next to our regular meeting room.
DAVID BRIDGES, one of the sponsors for the newly chartered Rotaract Club at Purdue, reviewed the Rotarians who had helped to launch this club. There are now 19 members. The Chartering Celebration is this Sunday, October 2nd at Happy Hollow Park from 4 - 7 PM. Cost is $5.00. We sponsored this new club and need to show some support.
DAVE LAHR, chair of the Community Service Committee, announced that the food donations next week (first Tuesday of the month) will go to Hanna Center's food bank. Please bring canned and other non-perishable food.

FRITZ COHEN is organizing the program for November 15, observing Veteran's Day and the 60th anniversary of VJ day. All veterans of any military service are urged to participate. FRITZ asks anyone who has had such service to submit one or two photos representative of that service for inclusion on a video to be projected as part of the program. Include: Name, time, place and branch of service. Time is short, so please contact FRITZ as soon as possible. If you don't have a photo, contact him anyway with the other data, at cohenfg@purdue.edu.
ELSA JANLE, Club Treasurer, announced that dues statements are going out and reminded us that there is an increase in dues for the first time in 5 years. The semi-annual rate is now $108. She also explained the budget based on 225 members.
President SUSAN announced that contributions to the Annual Programs Fund of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International since July 1 total $2838 from 20 contributors. Based upon our reported membership of 230, we've reached 8% participation and our per capita contribution to the Annual Programs Fund stands today at $12.00. We are a long way from our per capita goal of $100/member.

PROGRAM:
DAVE LUHMAN, President of Lafayette Rotary Foundation, introduced the 2004/05 Board Members and reviewed the Annual Report for 2004/05. There was a motion and second to accept the report as presented. Motion carried. DAVE then reminded us of the many ways to make contributions to the Foundation and pointed out the levels of recognition as listed in the Annual Report.
Denise Blank, a vocational scholarship recipient from Indiana Business College, told us that our scholarship enables her to reduce the drain on her savings and help her to succeed in the United States.
Bonnie Stockwell received a scholarship as a senior in high school. She is paying Purdue tuition with it as she works at WBAA and pursues a career in journalism.
Camp scholarships - or camperships - are a result of the earnings from the sale of Rotary Park in the early '70's. One of the recipient organizations is Lafayette Urban Ministries. Mary Anderson thanked us for giving underprivileged children the opportunity to participate in the fun at LUM Camp.
Joe Payne, director of West Lafayette Parks Department, thanked Rotarians for providing the seed money for other grants to fund the Heritage Trail Overlook. Our Centennial Project, a gift to the community, is enjoyed by many people.
