SUSAN introduced STAN MITHOEFER, chair of the Community Service Task Force, who said the task force decided that Rotary needs to focus on the needs of children - our most valuable resource. |
Pam Biggs-Reed, Executive Director of Community and Family Resource Center, said her agency is stressing that we all know the names of the children in our neighborhoods and treat kids like people, not problems to be fixed. She recommends the book, What Kids Need to Succeed, provided to us by The Community Foundation. |
MIKE PIGGOTT suggested we consider sponsoring a Job Fair on a Friday in
July for 12 to 15 year olds. This would expose them to several career
opportunities and perhaps give them some hands on experience.
