    THANK YOUS:

    Dear Jane and Lafayette Rotarians,
Just a note to thank you and Rotarians for an enjoyable luncheon on June 27. Rotary has so much to offer and I was pleased to hear about all the projects.
Thanks again and have a great year!
    Sincerely,
    Faye Fields (Mrs. R. F.)

I enjoyed the hospitality shown at the 90th Annual Luncheon last Tuesday. My late husband, Frederick N. Andrews, took his membership in Rotary seriously.
    Again, thank you.
    Gertrude M. Andrews

    ROTARY FACT:

Club Service focuses on strengthening fellowship and ensuring the effective functioning of the club.

    PROGRAM:

JIM HANKS introduced GARY SUISMAN, publisher of the Journal and Courier, by saying that newspaper publishers probably get a lot more help than they request - or need - or want! GARY, a member of our club since 2000, shared several interesting statistics regarding readership before telling us about the new press. It's from Germany and is the only one like it in the U.S. The paper size will be slightly smaller and more colorful. Ads will be more creative. He shared some favorite headlines (Jay Leno style!) and distributed prototypes of the new Journal and Courier.

    VISITING ROTARIANS:

LORRAINE GARCY, Livermore Valley, CA; TOM SCHMIDT, Fremont, MI; ED ELLIOTT, Naples, FL

    GUESTS:

Kyle Lynch, guest of GARY SUISMAN; Melba Crawford, guest of ARVID OLSON

THANKS TO THOSE WHO HELP WITH MEETING FUNCTION:

Money Collectors: BARB HANSEN and "GUS" GUSTAFSON; Invocation: GORDON KINGMA; Dinner Music: BOB GRIFFITHS; Singing: HARLEY FREY and BOB GRIFFITHS; DAVE LAHR and TOM MORAN for taking attendance and for help at the back table; and BILL FULLER for help with RIPPLES. >br />
    PRESIDENT JAN'S THOUGHT:

Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is! - Anne Frank
