    ANNOUNCEMENTS:

    • International Fellowship Program

Last year, we announced that Rotarians have an opportunity to get acquainted with foreign students on a personal basis through the International Friendship Program at Purdue. Recall that received information on this Program in August 2004 and a number of Rotarians responded by participating both during the Fall of 2004 and 2005.

The International Friendship Office has announced that there are three opportunities for receiving a briefing about the IF Program:

Tuesday, August 8; 7:00 p.m. in the Walnut room of the WL Public Library (upstairs meeting room)

Wednesday, August 16 - 7:00 p.m. in the Elm room of the WL Public Library (upstairs meeting room)

Thursday, August 24 - 7:00 p.m. in the Elm room

The purpose of the briefing is to describe the commitment that is asked of you and to present some ideas of how to interact with foreign students. A foreign student would be assigned to you after the briefing if you indicate that you want to participate. You can even indicate what country you are interested in. If you have previously participated in the International Friendship Program, you do not need to attend any of these briefings. Just contact Heather Day at the Purdue International Students and Scholars Office and she will update your records and assign a student to you. Her contact info is 743-1197 or email: heatherday@purdue.edu

Thanks. Let me know if you have specific questions. -- Chris J. Johannsen (463-7641) or c.Johannsen@insightbb.com

    PROGRAM:
FAYE COLE introduced Kris Taylor of K. Taylor & Associates. Kris and her husband own Precision Putt Plus and Silent Thunder. She spoke to us about healthy habits and how to cultivate the ones we want. The four steps are: 1) See it. 2) Say it. 3) Do it. 4) Be it. Some habits take work to start, but once it is a habit, it becomes a part of who we are. There were several good comments and questions.
