Rotary Fellowships

Last year significant organizational changes occurred in Rotary Fellowships. Groups organized by Rotarians for the purpose of supporting service activities are now categorized as Rotarian Action Groups. Rotary Fellowships have returned to their original focus on vocational or recreational interests. Collectively, these two group categories are known as Global Networking Groups. As of 1 July 2006, there are 95 active Global Networking Groups: 86 Rotary Fellowships and 9 Rotarian Action Groups.

Global Networking Groups offer unique opportunities for Rotarians to develop friendship and international understanding, and to support the Object of Rotary. As you facilitate communication between individual fellowships or action groups and Rotary clubs, Rotarians will be able to explore new opportunities for fellowship and service. Rotarians who are involved in Global Networking Groups become more active with Rotary beyond the club level, and have a positive impact on membership retention at the district level. Simultaneously enhancing Rotarians' experience in Rotary and improving Rotary's capacity to serve the world, Global Networking Groups are truly beneficial to everyone.

Whether recreational, vocational, or medical related, Rotary Fellowships unite Rotarians to foster friendship, international understanding, and service in exciting and innovating ways that benefit the global community.
