Leonardtown is embarking on a huge oyster bar restoration project.
Over the last three months the Environmental Committee has been moving ahead with preparations for their Oyster Reef Restoration project in the St. Mary’s River oyster sanctuary at St. Mary’s City. This project, with a 2011-2012 budget of $26,200, strives to bring together at least eight District 7620 clubs and many community groups in what will become a major water filtration project for the Chesapeake region.
Clubs are strongly encouraged to apply for a District Grant to support a community or international project. Clubs are allowed one FV District Grant per year up to $1,500. You can team up with other Rotary Clubs and ask for up to $4,500 with a minimum of 3 clubs. Please download the following application which also lists the Terms and Conditions.
