The Fall Contest

Goals:

To encourage District 5300 members to read The Highlighter.

To increase member knowledge of projects of District 5300 and RI.

Rules:

• Notice of The Highlighter is emailed to every club President and club newsletter editor.

• Each edition will contain a Rotary Quiz Question.  Questions will be drawn from information in the current newsletter including newsletter links.

• District Rotarians have until the 15th of the month to submit answers to the questions by email. The contest will run from September-December 2009. Contestants should email their answers along with their name, club name, and RI Club Number which can be found at: http://www.district5300.org/clubinfo.html to highlighter@district5300.org include D5300 Fall Contest in the subject line.

• Only one response per person is accepted.

• The club’s score is the percentage calculated on the basis of the # of correct answers divided by the # of club members as last reported on the latest District 5300 attendance report at the close of the contest for that month (e.g. http://district5300.org/newsletter/attend0907.pdf)

• Each edition of the newsletter will include:

  • the three clubs with the highest percentages from the previous contest

  • the three clubs with the highest overall running average

• The Club with the the highest score after December 15, 2009 will receive a $100 discount coupon to be used at the 2010 District Conference. The club can apply it in anyway it deems fair.

• The decision of the judges is final.

The Four Way Test Applies: Is it the truth; Is it fair to all concerned; Does it build good will and better friendships; Is it beneficial to all concerned?
