District 7620 Post-Secondary Scholarships

District 7620 offers two (2) Post Secondary Scholarships of $5,000 to high school seniors residing in District 7620 and enrolling in an accredited US college, university or technical school.  Funds will be sent to the academic institution of winning scholars to cover tuition, room, board and books.

 

Timeline for Scholarship Application Process and Selection

 

Late November through mid-February:  Individual Rotary Clubs should begin to promote the District Post-Secondary scholarships to local high schools.

 

February 15– March 14: Rotary Clubs review applications and interview candidates and submit one (1) finalist per Club.

 

March 15: Deadline for all individual Rotary Clubs to submit a completed application packet to District Scholarship Committee Co-Chair Neil Fay at neilfay302@gmail.com. Incomplete scholarship packets will not be considered for further review.

 

March 15-April 14:  Scholarship nominees will be contacted by the District Scholarship Committee and invited for an interview, if selected as a Club finalist.

April 15- April 30: District Scholarship Committee will be interviewing all Club Finalists

 

May 15:  Scholarship recipients notified of their scholarship award by the District Scholarship Committee.

 

October:  Scholarship funds will be sent to the academic institutions where recipients are enrolled.

   

Completed District Scholarship applications must include the following:

 

1      A completed Application for Rotary District 7620 Scholarship

      2      Essay explaining educational objectives and subsequent occupational goals (300-500     words)

3      A summary/resume of extracurricular and community activities, work experience, awards and honors received

4     An official copy of student’s high school or college transcript

5     A copy of any test scores (SAT, ACT, TOEFL) used to qualify for admission at a Post Secondary institution

6     Copies of any college acceptance letters received by the time of application
